You'd normally pay $30 or more in the retail store. I was surprised when I saw that you could buy 100ft of Monster Cable for such a low price. I paid $25 with shipping.
You will not be disappointed. Noticeable difference from the cable supplied with my new Boston Acoustics 5.1 system. This is great 16 gauge speaker wire and Amazon's price is great.
I think the sound did sound better from cheap wires, but I had no tester to check. The + and - is hard to tell, but they are not identical. Monster's brand products are usually overpriced with little noticeable performance gain; especially with today's digital transfer cables. I picked it for the THX certification and the standard 16 Guage. If you can read my review, you should have enough IQ to separate them. However, this speaker wire is a good product and sold at a competitive price. It felt heavy and was very hard to cut (sign of quality material).
Sounds great, no strange hissing sounds from speakers or anything. I would recommend it to anyone. Needed some Really good 16 gauge speaker wire for my new surround sound set up. Just pure clean power. Very Easy to work with as well. The price on this monster wire was about equal to the price of other non name brand products, so I went ahead and purchased it. Have to say I am quite pleased with the product.
Splicing the ends to the speakers was easy with a simple wire cutter/splicer. I'm no audio guru so I could'nt tell you if I hear any difference, but it does make me feel more comfortable to know that I am using a much thicker wire to carry all the sound frequencies than that dental floss stuff that came with the speakers. The wire was easy to work with, did'nt bind or curl up. This spekaer wire is good for any home theater system that one might do themselves. 100' Monster Cable 16 Gauge THX SP 16-100 Speaker Wire I used this wire on a small project I was doing for my childrens play room. The wire is easy to work with, ample amount of wire, and doesn't look that bad if left in plain sight. I had more than enough wire to set their 5.1 system up, at least alot more than what came with the orginal speakers.
